The LONGER RAY5 40W is the new top-of-the-line model in the RAY5 series and is aimed at users with the highest demands for cutting performance, speed, and productivity. With an optical output power of up to 40 W, advanced multi-diode laser technology with FAC compression, and a generous working area of approximately 400 × 400 mm, this laser is clearly designed for workshop, maker, and production-related applications.
Despite its high performance, the focus remains on precision: The highly compressed laser dot enables clean engravings with fine details, while the enormous power reserve allows for cutting significantly thicker materials in fewer passes. Combined with a stable 32-bit ESP32 controller and working speeds of up to 10,000 mm/min, the RAY5 40W is particularly well-suited for serial production and time-critical projects.
Operation is via the integrated 3.5-inch touchscreen or conveniently via Wi-Fi, USB, or TF card. Offline engraving is easily possible. LaserGRBL and LightBurn are supported for software integration (Windows, macOS, Linux).
Difference to RAY5 5W, 10W and 20W
The RAY5 40W clearly elevates the series to a new performance class:
- Compared to 5W:
While the 5W version is primarily intended for engraving and light cutting work, the 40W is a fully-fledged high-performance cutting laser. Materials that can only be processed to a very limited extent with the 5W can be cut efficiently and reproducibly with the 40W. - Compared to 10W:
The 10W model is already well-suited for workshop applications, but requires several passes with thicker materials. The 40W model significantly reduces this, enabling faster throughput times with the same or even better cut quality. - Compared to 20W:
The 20W offers powerful cutting performance for many applications. The 40W goes significantly further and is particularly useful when regularly working with thick wood, plywood, or in series production.
In short:
- 5W → Engraving, very easy cutting
- 10W → Engraving + solid cutting
- 20W → Engraving + powerful cutting performance
- 40W → Engraving + maximum cutting performance and productivity
